Do you have a group of students who need to get moving? Kelsey has workshops for theatre programs, classrooms, and community centers to teach movement, consent, teamwork, flexibility, and more! Each workshop contains age-appropriate content tailored to your students' needs. ​These programs can adhere to state standards with advanced notice and are tailored to your unique needs.
UNIQUE FITNESS WORKSHOPS
Let's Hang! - Leg hangs - Intermediate -These shapes are integral to most inverted tricks on the pole - so let's make sure they're solid! In this workshop, we'll go over the secrets to achieving ironclad inside and outside leg hangs, as well as creative entries and fun shapes in and around them.
Prerequisites- Experience inverting or climbing and dropping into a Jasmine.
Spin Me Right Round - Spin Pole Sequences - Beginner/Intermediate - Mastering spin pole is more than just transferring tricks you know on the static pole onto the spin pole. Spin pole is its own apparatus with its own techniques. In this workshop, we will go over graceful, simple tricks on the spin pole that will make you look even more floaty and ethereal in the air. Prerequisites: Stronghold float, chair spin, pole sit, climb.
Up is Down, Down is Up - Pole Handstands - Intermediate/Advanced - Handstands and transitions at the base of the pole can be tricky, let's do 'em until we don't know what right side up is! Descending into a handstand, using pole handstands to create rotation, and deadlifting/kicking up into them from the ground.
Prerequisites: No-handed genie, confident invert, straddle flexibility.
Freeze Frame - Pole Photoshoot Practice - Beginner/Advanced (All Levels) - Let's talk about what it takes to get the best pictures on the pole! What to do with your hands and face, how to get the best angles, and how to help your friend in a photoshoot! This workshop will include some freestyle posing, so come ready to cheer on your friends and feel good in your own skin. Bring with you a phone with some memory, a list of tricks you'd like to have pictures of forever, and a cute outfit.
Off the Wall - Freestanding Balance - Advanced Can you do things upside down, but only with the help of a wall or a pole? Let's work together to get you *off* that wall! We'll go over safe entries and exits from hand/head/forearm stands, spotting techniques, and tackling these tricks head on! Prerequesites are minimal, but be comfortable kicking up into a handstand and/or headstand up against a wall. You'll also need solid wrists!
